Portmeirion
dinnerware has been a favorite American dinnerware for over half a century. It is from England. The consistently popular motifs are botanically accurate flowers and herbs in "Botanic Garden"; and the realistic fruits found in "Pomona." There are six designs in each respective group - it seems like one design changes per year. A third group called "Birds of Britain," having the same realism, is a shorter line and less popular, but never-the-less has a strong appeal for many. All three share the same shapes and same cost per piece. A fourth group, "Holly and Ivy" has the same enduring popularity as the others but with a very Bristish Isles flavor.
